Workshop on Water Conservation and Management

Workshop on Water Conservation and Management jointly organized by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and Centre for Human Development on June 14, 2016 at Chittogarh. In opening remark, Sachin Badetiya, District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture said the NABARD has launched nation-wide water campaign laying emphasis on water conservation, preservation and efficient management, ground water recharge, rain water harvesting, recycling of waste water, creation of farm pond, bunds, etc. He said this campaign will get awareness building on improving water use efficiency, in his addition he said the bankers will be more sensitize to finance more for water conservation structure and farmers will sensitize to avoid water intensive crops and adopt micro irrigation to increase crop productivity.

CUTS and NABARD jointly shared the detailed presentation on water conservation and management videos and NABARD promoted activities. After the workshop all participants respondeded to al ShramDaan (labour donation) call given by CHD to clean the pond located near to office here, the volunteers clean all plastic, garbage from pond and saidthat they felt proud to be part of the team to clean the pond.Total around 30 SHGs women, NGOs, consumer activists were participated.
