Organised Convergence meeting with district level stakeholders

A convergence meeting was organised with the district level stakeholders on 21st July 2017 at Hotel Meera, Chittorgarh. The participants from district level govt departments i.e. Department of social Justice and Empowerment, District Industry Centre, Nabard, Banks, Panchayatsamiti, RSLDC, NULM, employment office, etc., CSR head from corporate companies i.e. Aditya Birla Cement, Baroda SwarojgarSewaSansthan etc., various skill training institutes (Skill India, Dr Reddy’s foundation etc. and Non-government organisations i.e. SanwaliyaBahuudeshyaViklangSewaSanthan, MewarViklangSewaSansthan etc. were invited. Total 30 participants were attended the meeting.

The objectives of the meeting were to sensitize the stakeholders with livelihood status of disabled people of both blocks of Chittorgarh District; and to discuss and planning with government department on livelihood opportunities for disabled people.

Mr. GauharMahmood (Asst. Director and head, CHD) welcomed the participants and addressed the need to create a supportive environment in the family of disabled people as well as society and also need to provide them opportunity to inclusion in the society and avail their rights and entitlements. He encouraged the disabled people giving shining example of successful disabled people who reached the highest peak through their hard work facing many barriers on the way.

MrKamlesh Kumar Jangid (District Programme Manager, SSIP) discussed on current scenario on livelihood of disabled people sharing a detail presentation on livelihood survey which was conducted in 2016 by CUTS CHD in the support of BASIX organization sharing vision-mission of CUTS and Sightsaver. MrJangid also shared about the rights of people with disabilities- 2016 and provisions on the skill development and employment in various govt and private institutions.

MrSachinbagetiya (District Development Manager, Nabard) addressed to the participants to mobilise the stakeholders and employers to give a chance to people with disabilities for work in their company and institutions or to create opportunities for people with disabilities according their disabilities. He also shared that it is our responsibilities being a society or human to create livelihood for disabled people and do familiar them about internal and external environment, so they can move freely anywhere keeping them safe.

Mr Sanjay bhardwaj (Lead District Manager) said about the process of credit linkages of SHGs from banks and also ensured to resolve the issues related credit linkages of SHGs further.

Mr Anil Anchaliya (Director, Baroda SwarojgarVikasSansthan) shared about Baroda SwarojgarVikasSansthan (BSVS) and also said that BSVS is working to enhance the skills of youth in various trades under corporate social responsibility of Bank of Baroda. He also promised to organised various skill development training for disabled people at organisation’s promise, they need some support technically if the training to be organised outside of promise in the field for disable people.

MrVipinSaxena(Coordinator_CSR, Aditya Birla Cement)shared the activities under Corporate Social Responsibility of Aditya Birla Cement in their mining effected areas presenting their further planning for people with disabilities in the collaboration of CUTS.

MrNirajLaddha(Secretary, MewarViklangSewaSansthan) and MrPuran Sharma (President, MewarViklangSewaSansthan, Block Nimbahera) shared about the history and major achievements of MewarViklangSewaSansthan. He also shared expectation from departments and various pvt agencies to support the disabled people to sustain their livelihood.

MrKamlesh Sharma (Block In-charge, SSIP) facilitated all the session and summarized the meeting delivering vote of heartily thanks to the officers from various organizations and institutions to make this event successful.
