The project, supported by LokJumbishParishad, aims at: facilitating access to primary education by all children of 5 to 14 years age; retention of all the children enrolled in schools; improvement in quality of education; improving gender equity through education; making special efforts to link children belonging to disadvantaged communities with elementary education; and soliciting people’s participation for universalisation of primary education.
Campaigns
A number of campaigns were launched under this project;
- encouraging women to contest for elections for the Panchayati Raj Institutions
- capacity building of villagers in general and women in particular
- organising health care programmes in schools in 102 villages.
